Andy Adams collection & tribute this Saturday

In July this year, local fire and rescue watch manager Andy Adams was attending a blaze in Greenock. During this incident a wall collapsed and fell on Andy.

As a result, he suffered very serious and life-changing injuries and in response his colleagues have started a campaign to raise funds to allow Andy to have his house altered so he can return home to his partner and young family.

As part of their efforts, firefighters will be collecting for this fund at turnstiles around Cappielow prior to this Saturday’s Ladbrokes Championship fixture against Hibernian.

Furthermore, supporters have contacted the club to make us aware of a planned one-minute applause in the 49th minute – Andy is 49 years old – of the game against Hibs in tribute to his bravery.

This is a supporter and community initiative that we at the club are proud to promote and support, as well as assisting by alerting the wider fanbase on the electronic trackside advertising in place for this television clash.

We will also display the web link to Andy’s Just Giving crowdfunding page, which can be found at: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/Andy-Adamsfund?utm_id=106&utm_term=PYJ5Dyw58
