Away Fans Guide: Easter Road

Hibernian versus Morton

Ladbrokes Championship

Wednesday 29 March 2017 | 7.45pm kick-off

By John Malcolm

The Morton support will be housed in the west side of the South Stand and enter Easter Road stadium via turnstiles 5 and 6. Wheelchair users and attendants have an acceptable entry gate at the South Stand.

Tickets will be on sale from a ticket pod outside the South Stand from 6.30pm, with a swipe entry system in operation. Hibs have a strict search policy in place at every game.

Flags and banners can only be displayed if presented for checking at the point of entry and display is at the discretion of Hibernian Football Club.

Enhanced security measures may be in place so supporters are asked to allow extra time should this be the case, as well as arriving early in order to purchase a ticket.

Prices

Entry is by ticket which must be purchased at the south stand pod prior to entry. Admission is £22 for adults and £12 for concessions (concessions may be asked for proof of identity to confirm eligibility).

Travel

Travel by Road: The postcode for sat nav used is EH7 5QG. Roadworks at the Baillieston to Newhouse M8/A8 improvement upgrade have the potential to add time to journeys to and from Edinburgh.

Follow the M8 to Edinburgh. Take A720 city bypass to the end and go left onto A1 and A199 Sir Harry Lauder Road. Stay on A119 to Wakefield Ave (left then right at double roundabout) then left to Craigentinny Road, Sleight Dr to Easter Road.

The M80, M876, and M9 offers a route that avoids roadworks. However, the M9 takes you onto A8 near Edinburgh Airport and it’s local roads all the way to Leith. If you don’t know Edinburgh well, advice is to use M8 option and allow extra time.

Edinburgh City Council have also introduced new 20mph speed limits throughout the city and several around the Easter Road and Leith area in particular. Cameras are in use for the new speed limits.

Parking

Bus parking has been identified in London Road, from where it is a short walk to the stadium.

Car parking is available on-street outwith any restricted areas. Please check signs and cones. Edinburgh parking attendants are known for issuing tickets and this area is well patrolled on match days
