Away strip competition final 12 chosen

We have today whittled 726 fantastic away strip competition entries to a final 12 and can announce the budding designers to have made the cut.

Back on 25 August, we handed supporters the unique opportunity to both design and select the team’s away kit for next season following on from the success of the public vote for our current pin-stripe home shirt.

The dazzling dozen as chosen by our panel of judges are:

Pablo Senra (11) Ardgowan Primary

Lauren Leesing (9) Whinhill Primary

Kyle Nugent (9) Lady Alice Primary

Sophie Hudson (10) Whinhill Primary

David Curley (15) St Stephen’s High

Emily Milne (10) Whinhill Primary

Cameron Carson (9) Kilmacolm Primary

Zoe Ricketts (11) Whinhill Primary

Peter Fleming – Online entry I

Peter Fleming – Online entry II

Peter Fleming – Online entry III

Ben Crawford – Online entry

The successful designers each receive the current home shirt as a prize, courtesy of competition sponsor FifeCare Funerals, Oakley, and will now have their efforts developed graphically.

Next, the wider fanbase will give their verdict on the visuals, narrowing the options to four in a vote – format to be announced soon – before this quartet are produced as prototypes by Vision and put on display in ‘Smiths of Greenock’ as part of a final ‘in person’ public ballot.

The final fans’ choice will be announced by the end of January and put into production to ensure that they are on sale before supporters head away on their summer holidays.

Head of community coaching Brian McLaughlin said: “All at Morton in the Community have been overwhelmed by the response to our competition and can’t thank everyone enough for their support.

“726 entries was unbelievable, an array of unique and colourful entries, it was an almost impossible job of whittling down the entries to just 12.

“We now have a dozen worthy candidates that I’m sure the team would be proud to wear on their travels next season and I’m excited to see the winning design chosen by the Morton faithful.”

Would all winning entrants named above please email admin@mortoncommunity.net to claim your prize and ensure we have all your contact details for the next stages – congratulations!
