Betfred surprise Ton fan with signed strip

League Cup sponsors Betfred have surprised a young Morton supporter with a signed strip after learning of his unique semi-final story in the Greenock Telegraph.

Adam Darroch attended last month’s final-four tie against Aberdeen at Hampden aged 11 – 37 years on from his dad Andrew attending the same venue for a tie against the same opposition at the same age.

And bookmakers Betfred loved the tale so much that they arranged for Adam to receive an autographed shirt and meet manager Jim Duffy, favourite player Jai Quitongo and the rest of the squad at Parklea after training recently.

Adam said: “It’s amazing. I’ll keep the strip forever. I’ve never been here before, I can’t believe I’ve met the players. I spoke to Jim Duffy and he told me to stick in with my football and work hard and it was great to meet Jai. He’s my favourite player.”

Speaking about the semi-final, Adam said: “It was a great day. I only hope I don’t have to wait too long for another one! It was brilliant. I thought we played really well but I was a bit disappointed we didn’t win.

“We sang the whole game, it was constant. Before the game we were talking to Aberdeen fans and they wished us all the best.”
