Celtic to play UEFA Youth fixtures at Cappielow

We are pleased to confirm that we have come to an arrangement with Celtic to stage their three home UEFA Youth League group fixtures here at Cappielow.

Like the Parkhead club’s first-team, their development squad host Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach in Group C of the Under-19 equivalent of the Champions League.

All three home fixtures will be contested here in Greenock and will be open to the public, with the Manchester City match selected for live television coverage by BT Sport 1.

We have experience of hosting Celtic in the competition having provided the venue for their 2-1 loss to Barcelona on 1 October 2013 – a match in which future Ton loan players Stuart Findlay, Jamie Lindsay, Paul McMullan and Denny Johnstone all participated.

The fixtures are as follows:

Celtic v Manchester City
Kick-off 5pm, Free entry

Wednesday 19 October

Celtic v Borussia Monchengladbach
Kick-off 2pm

Wednesday 23 November

Celtic v  Barcelona
Kick-off 2pm
