Scene Setter

Morton make the trip to the Balmoral Stadium tomorrow evening for the last league match of the season against Cove Rangers. Last time out for the Ton it was a 2-1 win over title challengers Queen’s Park and it will need to be much of the same tomorrow as the Greenock side look to clinch a playoff spot. A win tomorrow could see Dougie Imrie’s side move into the top four and secure a playoff spot but that would also require results elsewhere to go in their favour.

Paul Hartley’s men find themselves fighting for survival at the bottom end of the table, sitting just one point off the bottom of the cinch Championship. Last time out it was a 0-0 draw away from home against a Dundee side that are fighting for the title. A win for Cove could see them avoid any sort of involvement in relegation should Hamilton win away to Arbroath.

This tie has been a tightly contested fixture on the three occasions that both sides have met this season but Morton have managed to find a way to win and come away with nine points from a possible nine so far. Last time out between the sides saw a dramatic late comeback seal three points for the Ton and they will be hoping to pick up another three tomorrow evening.
