Dougie Imrie Pens Contract Extension

Greenock Morton First Team Manager, Dougie Imrie, has today penned an extension to his contract that will initially keep him at the club until the summer of 2024. Once that point is reached, the deal will then transition into a one-year rolling contract.

Dougie arrived at the club in December and instantly made an impression winning Manager of the Month in his first two months in charge.  That great start helped guide the club to secure our Championship status for the 2022/23 season.

Speaking after penning his new deal, Dougie said, “I’m delighted to be extending my stay at the club. Since day one, I have felt there was a real opportunity to build something special at Morton as a community owned club.

“With the Dalrada partnership announced last week, it’s an exciting time for the club and it’s a privilege to be at the heart of that.

“I would like to thank the supporters for their backing since December, and look forward to hopefully giving you all more to cheer about in the coming months and years.”

Club Director, Graham Barr, added, “It is great to be following up last week’s positive news with Dougie committing his future to the club.

“Dougie has done a great job since arriving at Cappielow, and importantly has brought back the connection between the squad and the supporters.

“We are all working towards building something long term at Morton, and Dougie will have a key role to play in that.“
