Iredale: Scottish Cup exit was painful

Defender Jack Iredale says it was painful experience to exit the William Hill Scottish Cup against lower league opposition on Saturday and insists that the team have to do better.

It was from the Australian wing-back’s cross that Bob McHugh scored to give Morton an early lead, but East Fife replied with goals from Anton Dowds and Craig Watson to book their place in the fifth round.

The 22-year-old feels the Cappielow club should be winning cup ties against sides from the division below and was left gutted to be knocked out of the competition.
