Kris Doolan signs until end of season

Greenock Morton Football Club are pleased to announce that Kris Doolan has today signed with the club until June 2020.

An experienced goalscorer, Doolan started his professional career with Partick Thistle in 2009 signing from junior side Auchinleck Talbot after impressing boss Ian McCall following a successful trial period.

During his ten years at the Jags, the front-man perfected his craft and made over 300 appearances, scoring 114 goals before departing at the end of his testimonial year last season.

Doolan then signed for Ayr United at the beginning of this term but following his departure from The Honest Men last week, he was quick to put pen to paper on a deal at Cappielow which sees him with the Ton until the end of the season.

Manager David Hopkin is delighted to bring the forward to the club and believes he will contribute with his fair share of goals in the second half of the season.

Speaking exclusively to gmfc.net he said: “I’m absolutely delighted to bring Kris in as a Morton player. He is a player who is well respected and admired throughout Scottish football thanks to his goal scoring exploits over the years.

“He is an experienced professional who will give us everything playing in a Morton jersey and I have no doubt he will also be a role model for the younger players in the dressing room.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank members of Morton Club Together for helping make this possible. Their contribution over the course of the season has allowed me to increase the budget and bring in new players.

“When Kris became available they further increased monthly contributions to make this happen and their support is greatly appreciated by all at the club.”
