Kudus Oyenuga cleared to face Falkirk

New Morton striker Kudus Oyenuga today received international clearance and will be available for selection in Saturday’s Championship fixture against Falkirk.

The 23-year-old Englishman put pen to paper on a short-term contract on Monday after a successful trial stint, during which he played for the Under-20s in a friendly against junior outfit Kilbirnie Ladeside.

Kudus travelled to Hamilton with the rest of the squad for Tuesday night’s Betfred Cup tie and participated in the pre-match warm-up – and post-match celebrations (pictured) – but was not eligible to play.

However, the former Dundee United and Cowdenbeath forward will be involved against the Bairns this weekend, and manager Jim Duffy is pleased to have seen his attacking options bolstered ahead of the Cappielow clash.

He told gmfc.net: “Kudus’s clearance has come through and he’ll be in the matchday squad. That gives us further possibilities in the forward area.

“But as I’ve said before, any new signing has to compete with the guys who have the jersey. At the moment they’re doing well so any player who comes in has to put pressure on them by performing well in training and by showing the right appetite for the game.”
