Kick-off 7.45pm

Scene Setter

Morton’s Betfred Cup campaign continues tonight as we travel down to the borders for a game against Annan Athletic for the team’s third match of the tournament so far.

The game comes following Friday’s 4-0 defeat away to Motherwell in a wake-up call for Morton as they were unable to handle the class and power of the Premiership side.

The Ton will be hoping for a successful night in Annan as a win would give them a serious chance of being contenders for qualification into the Last 16 as they head into Saturday’s home match at Cappielow against Queen of the South.

David Hopkin will be expecting a turnaround from his players following their 4-0 defeat and will hope that the squad can get the result that is needed in this Betfred Cup match.

A win tonight will see the Sinclair Street side go second in the group, just one point ahead of Queen of the South who will have played the same amount of games.

Team News

Kalvin Orsi and Brendan Pearson remain unavailable due to their respective injuries.

Centre half Brian McLean will miss the game tonight following his knock in the game at Motherwell.
