Scene Setter

Following the Ton’s impressive 1-0 victory against Dundee last Saturday, the Cappielow side now turn their attentions to league leaders Dundee United at Tannadice.

This will be the Ton’s third away game in four league matches with the previous games being played against Queen of the South and Inverness, both ending in defeats for David Hopkin’s men.

Robbie Neilson’s in form side sit at the summit of the league heading into the game with deadly striker Lawrence Shankland being at the forefront of the team with 10 goals in 6 appearances to his name since arriving at the club in the summer.

Bob McHugh leads the way for Morton in terms of goals this season, including a hattrick against Alloa and McHugh will be hoping to increase his tally at Tannadice on Saturday.

With the Ton currently being in the playoff places, a win at Tannadice will prove to be a huge statement of intent in their hunt for the playoffs and beyond and may potentially knock Dundee United off the top of the league, dependent on results elsewhere.

Current Connections

Dundee United recruited Paul McMullan following his release by Celtic, from whom he spent three months of the 2015/16 season on loan with us here at Cappielow, scoring one goal in 11 appearances

On a dramatic day the team was taken by senior players Jim McAlister and Chris Millar at short notice after then manager Jonatan Johansson and assistant Peter Houston vacated their positions prior to kick-off.
