It’s a Boxing Day spectacular as Morton welcome Inverness Caledonian Thistle to Cappielow Park on Saturday in the Scottish Championship.

The Sinclair Street side’s recent hard work and positive performances have catapulted them into third place in the league table and interim manager Anton McElhone will be hoping his players can continue their  run of good form and record their third win in a row on Saturday.

A Kalvin Orsi double gave the Ton a solid 2-0 victory at Cappielow last week against Queen of the South and a repeat performance against Inverness would be the perfect way to mark the final game of the year on home soil.

For John Robertson’s Inverness, they make the long journey to Greenock after losing 2-1 to Alloa Athletic last Saturday and the Caley Jags will be hoping to put a dampener on any festive cheer being spread at Cappielow by coming home with all three points.

Morton Milestones & Significant Stats

12 – The Ton have scored 12 goals in all competitions so far this season.

Last Time Round

A last minute winner from Nikolay Todorov denied the Ton of a vital point back in March as the Greenock side lost 3-2 in the Highlands.

David Hopkin’s side came from behind twice with goals from Aidan Nesbitt and Reece Lyon in the second half however it was the Bulgarian forward Todorov who provided the sucker punch and ensure all three points for his team right at the very end of the game.
