St Mirren versus MORTON

 Saturday 28 October 2017

Paisley 2021 Stadium, Paisley

Kick-off 3pm

Match Preview

Morton make the short journey to Paisley tomorrow to face arch-rivals St Mirren in a mouthwatering second Renfrewshire derby of the Ladbrokes Championship season.

After 17 years without a competitve win in the county clash, the Greenock men came up trumps last term, winning 3-1 at Cappielow back in November.

Since then the sides have shared a 1-1 draw at the Paisley 2021 Stadium, courtesy of a last-gasp Ricki Lamie equaliser, before suffering a devastating 4-1 defeat on home turf in April.

However, they avenged that loss by reversing the scoreline on Sinclair Street in the first installment of the 2017/18 campaign’s four league meetings.

Despite the outcome of the most recent tussle, Saints have still be installed as pre-match favourites due to their league form, which sees them top the table after 10 matches.

Ton, meanwhile, are sat midtable but come into the encounter in a positive frame of mind having won and drawn in their last two outings and in the knowledge they were capable of besting the Saints just two short months ago.
