Morton drawn away to Rangers in Scottish Cup

We were tonight drawn away to Rangers in the fifth round of the William Hill Scottish Cup, with the last-16 tie scheduled to be played at Ibrox on the weekend of 11/12 February.

Jim Duffy’s side were paired with Celtic in a brief mix up before they were actually drawn out of the hat opposite their Glasgow rivals.

The Ton secured their spot with a 2-0 win over Falkirk yesterday while Mark Warburton’s men beat Motherwell 2-1 to book their place.

The clubs met twice at the Govan venue on league duty last term, with the Sinclair Street side recording a memorable 2-2 draw on Saturday 12 December 2015 before losing 3-1 on their return on Friday 11 March 2016

The full draw was as follows:

Ayr United or Queen’s Park v Stirling Albion or Clyde

Celtic v Inverness Caledonian Thistle

Dunfermline Athletic v Hamilton Academical

East Fife v St Mirren

Raith Rovers or Hearts v Hibernian

Rangers v MORTON

Ross County v Aberdeen

St Johnstone v Partick Thistle
