Morton in the Community’s Festive Friends

Morton in the Community host their annual Festive Friends event at Cappielow tomorrow as around 50 guests join us and manager Jonatan Johansson for a Christmas celebration.

In attendance will be our Football Memories participants, residents from Newark, Balclutha Care Home, and River Clyde Homes sheltered housing, as well as staff from the football club.

Festive Friends is funded by the SPFL Trust with the aim of offering companionship and support to ensure vulnerable or isolated groups enjoy a special Christmas dinner within their communities.

Morton in the Community chief executive Brian McLaughlin said: “This is our second year delivering Festive Friends and we would like to thank the SPFL Trust for funding the event.

“We are excited to welcome all attendees to the stadium and hopefully we can start the Christmas celebrations in style.

“This event also marks the end of another year of hard work at Morton in the Community in which we have continued to be ‘The Heartbeat of Inverclyde’.”

The event takes place between 1pm and 4pm tomorrow and Morton in the Community will be showcasing the day throughout their social media channels.
