New assistant club secretary

We are pleased to welcome Brendan McEleny to the backroom team at Cappielow after he was appointed as our new assistant club secretary.

Brendan, 19, impressed during a rigorous recruitment process and proved to be the successful applicant amongst a field of strong candidates.

A lifelong Morton fan, the teenager, who supporters may recognise him as the staff member offering guidance at the Cowshed turnstiles on Saturday, will now be the first point of contact at our main reception area.

Club secretary Antonia Kerr said: “We received a huge number of applications for the position and, after a thorough interview process, we felt that Brendan was the right person to join our team.

“He is a young professional who brings personal qualities and skills to the role and also comes to us as a supporter of the club, which I feel can only be beneficial.”

Brendan added: “I was delighted to be offered the post as assistant club secretary and look forward to working alongside a hard-working backroom staff on a daily basis.

“Being a Morton supporter, I want to take the love I have for the club and apply that by playing my part in the positive strides I believe are being made behind the scenes at Cappielow.”
