Jack Purdue: It’s been a mental season for me

Goal hero Jack Purdue says he has enjoyed a ‘mental’ season after scoring a Development League West title-clinching penalty against Ayr United last night as well as making his first-team debut.

Gourockian Purdue admitted he stepped up to the mark to convert the pressure spot-kick in the crucial 1-0 win over Ayr United after shying away from the responsibility previously.

The 18-year-old also reveals his family are Morton supporters and discusses making his senior bow as a substitute away at Inverness Caledonian Thistle in February.
