Queens Christmas Eve kick-off brought forward

Our Ladbrokes Championship fixture against Queen of the South here at Cappielow on Saturday 24 December will now kick off at the earlier time of 1pm following negotiations between the clubs.

We recognise that Christmas Eve is a big day for families and felt bringing the match forward would allow our supporters to spend more time with their loved ones on this special day.

Furthermore, it was only fair on our friends at Queen of the South and their travelling support, with the journey back to Dumfries meaning they would arrive home late in the evening.

Director Warren Hawke said: “It just so happened that the way the football calendar fell this year, we were scheduled to play a Ladbrokes Championship fixture on 24 December.

“But as a community club with strong family values, and upon looking at the kick-off time more closely, we came to the conclusion that bringing it forward benefitted all parties, allowing everyone to enjoy the football as well as spending time with their family on Christmas Eve.”
