Season Card sales up 41 per cent and counting

We are pleased to report that season ticket sales have burst through the one thousand mark this summer, with the current figure of 1,101 representing an incredible 41 per cent increase upon last term’s sales.

Colin Robertson of Greenock snapped up our 1000th season card and was presented with a signed shirt by Ton stars Chris Millar and Jack Iredale after the landmark purchase.

By coincidence, Colin, 55, is the son of the late former Cappielow club treasurer and secretary Tom Robertson and said: “It’s great to be the 1000th season ticket holder – and great for the club.

“I understand that’s about as many as we’ve ever sold in a season and I’m excited to see how many we get to by the time the season starts.

“I’ve been a supporter for over 40 years. From the time I could remember my dad was involved with the club up until he died.

“Morton were very much in his heart and he devoted his life to helping them do well. That was something he passed on to me.

“I’m just a watcher – I enjoy coming to watch the games – but once you get a bug for a team you never lose it.

“Over the years, I’ve only had a couple of season tickets. I’ve usually just come along and paid at the gate, but I thought that the price was fantastic value for money and I’m really looking forward to the new season.”
