Thommo on goal trail after Peterhead strike

Striker Robert Thomson scored his first goal in over a year in Tuesday night’s William Hill Scottish Cup replay against Peterhead and hopes it is the first of many this season after putting his injury problems behind him.

The 25-year-old targetman swept a first-time strike beyond goalkeeper Greg Fleming to net the second goal in the 3-0 win at Balmoor.

Thomson last scored on Saturday 25 November 2017, bagging a brace in a 3-0 win at Falkirk, and he feels ready to make an impact after overcoming the hernia problem that has curtailed his campaign.

He also discusses the difficult weather conditions on the night, travel disruptions on the way to the north east, and a fourth round tie away at East Fife.
