Tiffoney: I got lucky with my Inverness goal

Modest Morton forward Scott Tiffoney admitted he got lucky when he opened the scoring in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Tiffoney profited after the home defence misjudged a Derek Gaston punt and the ball broke back to him to stab into the net after his initial shot was blocked, giving him another bite at the cherry he felt fortunate to receive.

The 19-year-old also made a vital contribution at his side’s second goal, winning the penalty that Gary Harkins converted to seal the win, and he insisted it was a stonewall spot-kick.
