Ton boss believes side will rise to the occasion

Manager Jonatan Johansson believes his Morton team can rise to the occasion and topple league leaders Ayr United at Somerset Park tomorrow by recreating the performance that saw them win 2-1 at Queen of the South.

The Ton travel down the coast to take on Ian McCall’s Honest Men and come into the game off the back of a 2-0 home loss against Alloa Athletic.

But Greenock gaffer Johansson is feeling positive that his players will offer up the response required to not only put the Wasps loss to bed but also prove they aren’t as far off Ayr as September’s 5-1 defeat suggested.

He also talks Thursday’s reserve friendly against Manchester United Under-23s, trialists Joe Knowles, Nicky Low, Alex McWaters, and gives an injury update.
