Ton fans to design and choose new home kit

Morton supporters have been handed the opportunity to both design and select the home kit that their heroes will turn out in at Cappielow next season.

In May 2016, fans were presented with four bespoke designs from which the the current pin-striped hooped shirt was selected after a public poll.

This was taken a step further when we then asked supporters to design and choose our away jersey, with Peter Fleming’s red tartan entry coming out on top in the vote last December.

Following on from those fantastic successes, the board of directors have decided to repeat the process for the 2018/19 strip – and the competition is open NOW.

Budding designers of all ages are asked to use their creativity and imagination to come up with the kit that they would like to see their Ton heroes wear with pride whilst turning out on the hallowed turf.

Details and Dates

Although all design styles and forms of entry are accepted, entrants are reminded that the kit must incorporate the club’s primary colours of blue and white, with yellow optional.

The closing date for all entries is Friday 10 November, with the entries narrowed down to 12 by a panel of club and community officials and unveiled on Tuesday 14 November.

The overall winner of the competition will be presented with the first shirt at the kit launch, while the three runners up will receive their prototype. All finalists are required to participate in PR and entry is taken as agreement to this.

Then the wider fanbase will give their verdict, first narrowing the choices down from a dozen to four in an online vote before this quartet are produced as prototypes by Vision and put on display as part of another public ballot.

From there the wider fanbase will give their verdict on dazzling dozen in postal vote, with forms printed in the Greenock Telegraph, which can be handed in at Cappielow or the Tele office, with the final four unveiled on Friday 24 November.

This quartet are then produced by Vision and put on display in Smiths of Greenock as part of a final public ballot, between Thursday 14 and Monday 18 December in conjunction with a further postal vote in the Telegraph.

The final fans choice will be announced on Thursday 21 December and put into production to ensure that they are on sale in time for the summer holidays.
