‘Ton youngsters sign new deals

We are pleased to announce that Lewis McGrattan, Alexander Easdale, Chris Wylie and Michael Garrity have today signed contract extensions to tie them to the club for next season.

Midfielder McGrattan, 20, striker Easdale, 21, midfielder Garrity, 18, and goalkeeper Wylie, 19, were all offered new terms following discussions with manager Gus MacPherson and director of youth Derek Anderson.

The academy graduates put pen to paper this afternoon and the ‘Ton boss said: “We’ve had a really good chat with Derek [Anderson] about each of the younger players and we are in agreement that we need to continue to develop them within a first team environment.

“It has been a tricky season for them with their loan moves being halted due to the lower leagues stopping and with there being no reserve football but I am confident they can progress further.

“They have been in training with us, they have shown that they are ready to make the step up so it’s now up to them to continue to work hard and earn their place in the first team.

“We need to try and reduce numbers to give our younger players a chance and I am happy that we have started that process in getting some of the younger talent signed up again”.
